Potty learning

I signed my son up for preschool and it starts in September (he will be 3 in June). The kicker is that he has to be potty trained. Since he was 10 months old he would go number 1 and number 2 in the big potty (with my help obviously).

.

I thought it was way too young to actually slap underwear on him instead of a diaper, but I liked the idea that I was getting him used to the big boy potty. I'm not sure if I missed the boat or what, but when he turned 2 he started Operation hide-n-poop.

I can randomly bribe him to poo on the potty which is exactly why I just purchased a poster board and a whole lot of stickers. I am going to start the sticker chart and see how it works. Do any of you "seasoned" mamas out there have any advice for me? I would love any and all advice...seeing as we need all the help we can get.

  1. goooood luck! With Easton, it just "clicked" when he turned 3. And it sounds so gross (and it WAS) but with him I just did the bare bum method. It worked way better than trying to wrestle with underwear. Plus, he would poop in his underwear which wasn't cool. So I made him go without underwear. He FREAKED out when he had to poo because he wanted his underwear but he went in the toilet and after two days he got it! At least you have 6 months before preschool starts! Good luck!
